September is National library card sign up month! If you or someone you know does not have a library card, stop by a library and get one today! They are free and there are so many things you can check out with one! We have more than just books. You can check out movies, magazines, music, and some libraries even carry video games! Plus, if we do not have it here at our library, we are able to get it from another library and have it sent here for you to pick up! How awesome is that?

September is also Kid’s Good Manners Month! Come in and check out our display of books on manners and etiquette.

This is the last week to sign up for the “Booked for Dinner” event! It has been an exciting summer here at the Black Creek Village Library! Last week the NEW Zoo brought the Zoomobile to the library and we got to meet some fascinating animals including Penny the hedgehog! We had a lot of fun petting and learning about the animals, and we want to send out a huge thank you to the NEW Zoo for letting us get up close and personal with a few of their amazing animals!

Also, our fantastic patrons blew our reading goal out of the water TWICE! As summer comes to a close we will be celebrating all of our wonderful readers at our End of Summer Party on Thursday 8/25.

The End of the Summer party will be from 5:30PM – 7:00PM. We will have a magician, a balloon artist and a face painter! Plus, we will be announcing our Summer Reading Program winners! Don’t forget, everyone who handed in a reading count sheet will receive a participation prize for helping make our Summer Reading Program a great success!

We unfortunately had to cancel our final Paws to Read program that was to take place Monday (8/22).
