Have you tried Storytime lately?  It has changed in a big way.  Miss Sue, our new Storytime substitute, has been making Friday mornings exciting for everyone!  She has decades of experience in children’s programming and early literacy, and we are so happy to have her.  We’ve been having lots of fun singing, dancing, and of course, reading great stories.

Storytime isn’t the only excitement on Fridays.  Don’t forget about Flash Friday, our after-school program, which is just as fun, but designed for older kids.  Two weeks a month we focus on everyone’s favorite – Legos!  We have a huge selection of Legos, and the Lego Free Build is a great opportunity to build whatever you want while spending time with friends.  This week we’re playing board games!  Bring your own or play one of the many fun games we have here.

And now onto the announcement you’ve all been waiting for.  We have a new Youth Services Specialist!  Please welcome Kay, who comes to us with a background in both education and library science.  She is starting this week, so watch for a new face the next time you come in.

There are still two weeks left to do the Milwaukee Bucks reading challenge.  Anyone in grades 1-8 can participate, and you’ll get one point for every page you read.  250 points will get you a free ticket to a Milwaukee Bucks home game as well as an opportunity to shoot a post-game free-throw on the court.  Participants who earn over 500 points will also have their names entered into a drawing to win official Milwaukee Bucks items, a chance to participate in the Bucks Ball Exchange, and be recognized on court before each game.  Final scores need to be turned in before Monday, February 5th to qualify for prizes.

We also want to remind everyone that when the Seymour Area School District schools are closed due to weather, we are also closed, so please make sure to call before you make the trip if you’re not sure.  All items will be backdated to our last open day when we check them in, so items will not be late.

Have a great week, everyone!
