Foreword: January 8, 2018

By on

With the holidays behind us, we can now begin to focus on other important things, like Summer Reading!  This year’s theme is Libraries Rock (which we all know is true!)  We have already started planning some great events and activities that we know you’ll love.

We have also lined up several great adult programs for 2018.  With spring on the way (okay, not quite yet – although it feels like it after all the cold,) we have asked gardening expert Megan Cain to join us this April to talk about how our gardens can feed us all year long.  We also have extreme couponer Dannelle Gay from, coming in May to share the story of how she managed to save 40 thousand dollars in one year!  She will also share some great money-saving tips so that others can do the same.  Last but not least, we have Chad Lewis joining us again this September to discuss the Bizarre History of Wisconsin.

As always, we welcome suggestions about what kinds of programs you would be interested in attending.

We have already started our rearranging project, so look for non-fiction audiobooks in our non-fiction section, and YA audiobooks in the YA section.   This is all to make more room for DVDs in the media area.  Our DVD collection is growing rapidly - partly due to the many great donations we’ve received!  Fiction audiobooks will eventually be moved to the paperback area in the center of the library.

Don’t forget to make a self-portrait while you’re here for our January hallway project and to check out our Kid Reader of the Month.  Our feature this month is “I can’t remember the title, but the cover was blue!”  We have a great selection of blue books displayed across from the circulation desk.  Maybe you’ll be reunited with one of your old favorites!

We also want to remind everyone that when the Seymour Area School District schools are closed due to weather, we are also closed, so please make sure to call before you make the trip if you’re not sure.  All items will be backdated to our last open day when we check them in, so items will not be late.

Have a great week, everyone!
