Foreword: January 10, 2019

We’re having so much fun with our new Cricut purchased for us by the Friends of the Black Creek Village Library, that we just had to do another Cricut project.  This one is an adult Valentine’s Day project.  We will be decorating pre-made, heart-shaped, papier-mâché boxes with conversation hearts.  This project will span two nights.  On Thursday, January 17th (feel free to drop in any time between 5 and 6 pm,) we will be painting the boxes.  The second night, Thursday, January 24th, (also anytime between 5 and 6 pm,) drop in to add one or several conversation hearts to your boxes.  Depending on availability, each person will be able to make up to 3 boxes.

The wonderful Friends of the Black Creek Village Library also have a new raffle basket out.  This one focuses on activities that can be done indoors during the coldest months of the year, including puzzles, games, treats, and two tickets to the Children’s Museum of Green Bay!  As always, tickets are $0.25 each or 5 for $1.00.

Kwik Trip has announced that they have discontinued their Milk Moola program as of the end of 2018.  If you’ve been collecting bottle caps or bag tops for us, make sure to bring them in before the end of February, which is when the box will come down.  Thank you to all of you who have saved bottle caps and bag tops and dropped them off.  The Friends of the Black Creek Village Library (and the Black Creek Village Library,) truly appreciate the community support and effort.

Be on the lookout for two new children’s magazines coming soon to the Black Creek Village Library.  Curious Jane magazine brings hands-on projects and DIY fun to creative girls everywhere, and is full of fun things to make and do.  Muse magazine won the Parents’ Choice Gold Award in 2018, and provides adventures in science, technology, and the arts.  Even better, it’s full of facts, and off the wall jokes.

For our patrons interested in art, we have a new display up which features books about the arts and art history.  Check it out next time you’re here!

The next meeting of the Black Creek Library Page Turners is Wednesday, January 30th at 1 pm.  If you’re unable to join us in person, you can still participate online in our Facebook discussion: https://www.facebook.com/groups/2168740469821856/?source_id=87182937411.  Copies of My Sister Rosa are available at the circulation desk for checkout.
