Creative Library After School Sessions (CLASS) on Friday evenings could not be more popular with our after school crowd. Last week, Krista taught the kids how to make slime! For an upcoming CLASS session on September 25th, we need 28 clear 2 liter soda bottles with the caps. If you have any you would be willing to donate, please drop them off at the library! The kids will be making cartesian divers, a science experiment that teaches about buoyancy. If you would like to have your child come to this event (suitable for late elementary and early middle school kids), RSVP before the event on 9/25 at 3:30 PM!

For the Third Thursday Page Turners this month, we are going to the museum! You are welcome to join Jackie on Thursday, September 17th at 1PM for a discussion of "Murder in the Smithsonian" by Margaret Truman. As the summer comes to an end, we are celebrating all of our readers! If you participated in the Summer Reading Program, you are invited to a party! On Thursday, August 13, from 5-7 PM, we will be hosting magicians and facepainters to celebrate your awesome reading successes. Then, the children, teens and adults who read the most books out of everyone this summer will be announced and grand prizes will be distributed! If you didn't read the most, don't fret, you still get a surprise just for reading at all! Storytime will continue each Friday even though the Reading Program will conclude.

I would like to take a minute to reflect on the fantastic leaders that we have here at Black Creek Village Library. Our Library Board of Trustees is made up of five Village residents who have a passion for the Library and the community! The members of our Library Board are as follows: President Melanie Stadler, Vice President Wanda Taylor, Secretary and School District Representative Lisa St. John, Marge Doty, and Jacob Severson. We invite guests! Everyone and anyone is more than welcome to attend our meetings, which are regularly scheduled for the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30 PM at the Black Creek Village Library.
