Foreword – April 8, 2024

This week is National Library Week, and this year’s theme—Ready, Set Library!—highlights the way libraries, as a place for connection, learning, and exploration, are the place anyone in the community can start a new adventure! Black Creek Village Library is celebrating National Library Week with a mini art show! Stop in this week to admire the artistic works created by library users of all ages.

We’re hosting an Eclipse Party on Monday, April 8, 1:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m. The party will be held rain, shine, or clouds. The program is best suited for ages 5 and up, including adults. Solar viewing glasses will be provided for free while supplies last. Create a protective case for your viewing glasses. If desired, bring a lawn chair or blanket for viewing comfort.

Paint Night is returning for a special bookmarks edition. Adults (and older teens) are invited attend the program on Friday, April 19 (6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.). Participants will create a bookmark on watercolor paper using acrylic paint and wax crayons. Registration is required and space is limited. Please register promptly to secure your spot.

We’re hosting a card making class for teens and adults on Tuesday, April 23 at 5:30 p.m.. Participants will make celebratory cards, which can include birthdays, anniversaries, and more. Please contact the library to register.

Taking photos with your smart phone can be relatively simple, but what about editing photos? Sharing them? Smartphone Photos, a class provided by Bug Tussel University, will teach you how to view, save, share, organize, and edit photos on your smartphone. The program is Saturday, April 27, 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Space is limited, and registration is required. Please contact the library to register.

Storytime continues on Thursdays at 10:15 a.m. Young children and their caregivers are invited to come for stories, songs, silliness, and more!
