Foreword – December 12, 2022

We continue to feel thankful this holiday season, and we’re grateful for the hard work of the Friends of Black Creek Village Library. You may be familiar with their annual book sale, but who are the Friends? They are volunteers who donate their time and energy to support the library by sponsoring programs, purchasing materials and items that serve the library’s mission, and serving as advocates for the library.

The Friends raffle gift baskets throughout the year as one of their fundraising efforts, and the winner of the current basket (pictured) will be drawn on December 21. Tickets may be purchased at the library.

If you’d like to learn more about the Friends, you are welcome join them at their next meeting this Thursday, December 15 at 6:30 p.m.

After school programming continues with board games and more with Game On! on Tuesday, December 13 at 3:30 p.m. Our Wired program on Tuesday, December 20 at 3:30 p.m. will have participants discovering the power of conduction. Can bananas make music? They can when they are connected to an iPad and a Makey Makey. What’s a Makey Makey? Youth are invited to join us to find out. They may be able to plunk out a cheerful tune (or play a bongo solo if they prefer) with bananas and other unexpected items.
