Foreword – February 26, 2024

It’s the time of year where dreams of blooming flowers and future harvests take root. Check out our gardening display and search InfoSoup for the know how to help make those inspirations a reality. Whether you’re looking to plant veggies, annuals, or perennials, we’ve got the books for you! Would you like to try your hand at organic gardening? We’ve got resources for those too!

One type of gardening that may be new to you is pollinator-friendly gardening. That’s right, you can learn what plants are more likely to draw butterflies, bees, and other pollinators and to add them to your garden or landscape. Books that can help you get started include:

Pollinator Friendly Gardening: Gardening for Bees, Butterflies, and Other Pollinators by Rhonda Fleming Hays

The Pollinator Victory Garden by Kim Eierman

A Northern Gardner’s Guide to Native Plants and Pollinators by Lorraine Johnson

Native Plant Gardening for Birds, Bees, & Butterflies: Upper Midwest by Jaret C. Daniels

Storytime continues on Thursdays at 10:15 a.m. Young children and their caregivers are invited to come for stories, songs, silliness, and more!

The library is hiring! We’re looking for a library clerk and youth programming specialist. Please see our website or stop in the library for more information.
