Black Creek Village Library column

For publication 3 February 2025

Valentine’s Day can be described as one of sharing love for all people. Love can be shown through acts of kindness or words of encouragement.

We at the Black Creek Village Library invite you to a very special family program on Saturday, February 15 from 10:30 – 11:30 am. You will enjoy a Winnie the Pooh short film with popcorn being served. Miss Katie will be having a special Valentine’s Storytime. Then to finish out the event you will be able to decorate a Valentine’s Heart cookie. We hope you join us.

Do not forget to bring your lunch to our special event on Thursday, February 6 at 12:30. While eating you will be delighted with the reading of the book “To Carnival” by the author of the book; Baptiste Paul. Baptiste grew up on the Caribbean Island of St. Lucia, but now he lives in Bellevue. “To Carnival” is the story of Melba and her journey to the special parade. Her journey is not easy, does she make it? To find out you will need to come and hear the story.

The Winter Reading Bingo Challenge is in full swing but you still have time to join the fun. Stop in to pick up your bingo sheet. All bingo sheets must be returned by February 28 for a chance to win a prize basket. The baskets are awesome and are on display at the library. Come check them out, they are great motivation to get reading!!

The Library Staff, Board and Friends of the Library would like to thank everyone who joined us for our recent author event. Tammy Borden was well received as she shared her mother’s story. The Friends of the Library are always open to new people joining them; they meet on the third Thursday of every month. Check at the library for more details.

Sharing a book with someone is a great way to show your love!!
