What do you call a colorful heart that loves books? “Well-red!!!”
This week we would like to formally introduce our new director; Katie Rice. Katie began her library career in children’s services and still holds a special place in her heart for Storytimes, children’s literature and family programming. It is Katie’s desire to make sure the library provides materials and services to all ages and contributes to the overall quality of life for Black Creek!
Katie earned her Master’s in Library Science from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas. Katie previously worked at the Little Chute Library. Katie and her husband along with their two pups recently moved back to Outagamie County and are happy to be back in the area.
In Katie’s own words, her thoughts on the library. “I believe a library is a special place within every community that offers resources and information, but also provides a place to make memories, pursue interests and even allows for a little break from the day-to-day challenges of the world. I think we can all use that from time to time!”
Katie invites people to come in and say hi to her at the library. The perfect opportunity would be Saturday, February 15 from 10:30 – 11:30 am when she will be hosting a very special family program. You will enjoy a Winnie the Pooh short film with popcorn being served. Miss Katie will be having a special Valentine’s Storytime. To finish out the event you will be able to decorate a Valentine’s Heart cookie. Miss Katie hopes to see you there.
The Winter Reading Bingo Challenge is in full swing but you still have time to join the fun. Stop in to pick up your bingo sheet. All bingo sheets must be returned by February 28 for a chance to win a prize basket. The baskets are awesome and are on display at the library. Come check them out, they are great motivation to get reading!!
What did the paper clip say to the magnet? “I find you very attractive!”
