Foreword – July 31, 2023

It’s hard to believe that our last week of summer programs is here! On Tuesday, August 1, at 2:00 PM, youth will wear their imaginary construction hats as they create gravity mazes, (mini) roller coasters, domino mazes, and more with Gravitrax and other STEM games. Lego and Lego challenges are additional construction options.

We have an escape room to close out summer programming. Registration for our next escape room—Breakout the Alien Code—is underway. Hourly time slots are available starting at noon on Thursday, August 3 through Saturday, August 5. Space is limited, and registration is required. Please contact the library at 920-984-3094 or stop in to sign up. This event is family friendly, but success is more likely when the group includes a few middle/high school students or adults.

Our drop in activity this week is finger-knit snakes. (Yes, there are googly eyes!)

Storytime on Thursday, August 3 at 10:15 AM will be our last storytime for the summer. Storytime will return in September.

Participants of the Summer Library Challenge may record their activities through August 11 and may turn in their activity sheets through August 31.

We’re asking members of our community and service area to complete a community survey to help us know how we can serve you better. We’d like to hear from adult library users and non-users to learn more about what you think of the library, what services and resources you most appreciate, and identify areas in which the library can learn and grow. All who complete the survey will have the option of providing their name and contact information to be entered in a drawing for one of four, $25 Amazon gift cards. (Thank you to the Friends for providing the gift cards!) The link to the digital survey can be found on the library website and Facebook page. Paper copies of the survey are available upon request at the library. The deadline to complete the survey is Sunday, August 20.

The library is hiring! We’re looking for a substitute library clerk. Please see our website or stop in the library for more information.
