Foreword – August 26, 2024

It’s almost time for our fall programming to start at the library.

Storytime returns on Thursday, September 5 at 10:15 a.m. Children and their caregivers are invited to join us for stories, songs, silliness, and more!

We know how busy the first week of school can be, so there are no (school-aged) youth programs the first week of September. Youth are invited to join us for a Lego build challenge on Thursday, September 12 at 3:30 p.m.

In today’s information saturated world, it is more important than ever to be able to critically evaluate the news we encounter, whether it is from an online news site, a social media post, or an online video. Bug Tussel University returns to Black Creek Village Library to provide News Literacy, a program for basic technology users who want to learn how to become more savvy news consumers. The program is Saturday, September 14, 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Space is limited, and registration is required. Please contact the library to register. Participants are encouraged to bring a device to the class for hands on practice evaluating news stories.

We’re hosting a card making class on Wednesday, September 18, 5:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m. This session will feature thank you cards and “Thinking of You” cards, and additional options will be provided. Space is limited, and registration is required. Please contact the library to register.

Black Creek Village Library will be closed Saturday, August 31-Monday September 2 in observance of Labor Day.

Our schedule will return to our regular (non-summer) hours after Labor Day—Saturday hours (9 a.m.-noon) are back starting September 7!
