Forward January 6, 2025

The Black Creek Village Library is gearing up for an exciting new year – “Welcome 2025!!

Be sure to stop in and meet the library’s new director – Katie Rice. Katie officially starts on January 2. We will provide Katie’s background in a future article. We are so excited for Katie to be joining us at the library.

Mark your calendar – on Saturday January 25 at 9:30 the library will be welcoming local author – Tammy Borden (she grew up in Bear Creek). Tammy has written two books; “A Perennial Life – Finding Purpose in Every Season,” her personal memoir. Tammy honors her mother with her second book, an historical novel which shares the compelling true story of her mother growing up during WWll under Nazi rule. The book titled “Waltraud: A Story of Growing Up in Nazi Germany” is a very interesting read. Check it out.

Storytime is moving to Friday at 10:15. January 10 is all about hibernation. Hibernation is when an animal slows its heart rate to save energy and survive the winter without eating much. Some animals just slow down and move less but others go into a deep sleep and do not wake up till spring. Be sure to stop in and join the fun.

The after-school program is moving to Monday from 4:00 – 5:00. January 6 you can design your very own snow globe using Q-tips. Come in and get your creativity flowing. Looking forward to January 13 the activity will be “Magic Knuudle Creations.” More details will be provided next week.

No one will be hibernating at the library. We are excited about our new director, the new year, and brand-new exciting activities.
